We are looking for a person who approaches hospitality as a career and not just a side gig or a summer job. Our requirements and standards are a little high but, we are dedicated to creating a really amazing space so we need someone who can see that vision, appreciate it and want to be a part of it.

You should have reliable transportation, be able to work clean and sober at all times, a working cell phone, a good attitude and be hospitable, we can teach you an amazing number of things, but we cannot teach you how to be kind and personable. Bring the energy, we aren’t asking you to perform a routine but you should be able to have enough zeal to be part of a community driven, exciting, cocktail bar with unlimited potential. At its core our goal is to bring people together 

Bartenders:

You should be able to confidently be able to execute the following: An Old Fashioned, A Cosmo, A Whiskey Sour, A Mojito – don’t be surprised if I ask you for specs on the spot and do yourself a favor now – study conversions from ounces to milliliters and maybe when and who invented these drinks. *hint hint

We do not have sour mix or soda on a gun, we fresh press our citrus, we measure in grams and milliliters, we design our drinks to be challenging but not unapproachable. You will be expected to understand historical context of cocktails from pre-prohibition into the modern cocktail revitalization.

You should be able to confidently be able to explain the differences between negroni variations, know whether a lager is top fermented or bottom fermented, what grains are used for distilling, why dry ice is dangerous to use in a cocktail and why baby’s breath is a really terrible drink garnish, you should also be able to describe directional freezing. We are a small space that means no barbacks, we do the garnishes and the syrups, so please have an understanding of knife skills and safety. 

Above all you have to be service oriented, anticipate guests needs, be present to the guest experience – if you’re focused on inviting your significate other or family after one shift then you are missing the point. Our job is to create an atmosphere where strangers are welcome, where connections happen naturally, and every guest is treated with authentic hospitality.
